Description
NRCS New Mexico requests applications for Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches in New Mexico. Applications are accepted from New Mexico. NRCS anticipates that the amount available for support of this program in FY 2009 will be approximately $150,000. Funds will be awarded through a competitive grants process.
There are two CIG categories available in FY 2009: Natural Resource Concerns Category and Technology Category. NRCS New Mexico will prioritize proposals including a riparian restoration component, but will consider all eligible applications. Applications are requested from eligible governmental or non-governmental organizations or individuals for competitive consideration of grant awards for projects between 1 and 3 years in duration. This notice identifies the objectives for CIG projects, the eligibility criteria for projects, and provides the associated instructions needed to apply to CIG.
DATES: Applications must be received in the NRCS New Mexico State Office by 5 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST), on May 15, 2009.
