Description
The intent of this Department of Energy (DOE),
National Energy Technology
Laboratory (NETL) funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to select and
award
projects in FY09 that focus on (1) water resources and water management for
shale gas development as well as the science to support regulatory
streamlining
and permitting associated with shale gas development and (2) technological
solutions for Alaskan water management issues arising from development of
local
oil and natural gas resources for use by remote communities. The objective
of
this FOA is to fund research that addresses key water resources and water
management issues related to environmentally responsible oil and natural
gas
production.
The program is seeking to add multiple (5-8) environmental R D projects to
its
portfolio associated with water resources and produced fluids that enhance
the
environmental performance of domestic oil and natural gas exploration and
production operations.
