Description
CMS is inviting proposals from all States and U.S. territories to be considered for inclusion in this National Background Check Program. Only States that did not apply for full funding may apply during this solicitation. Federal matching funds are available to all States and U.S. territories that meet the requirements described in section 6201 of the Affordable Care Act and that provide an application that is scored at 70.2 out of a possible 101 points by the Federal review panel. The national program will be evaluated by the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG). CMS has awarded a technical support contract to support the States that are selected to participate in the program. This program announcement provides States information concerning application procedures, policy considerations, and criteria to be used in reviewing applications and selecting States.
