The purpose of the program is to fulfill three broad goals: (1) To conduct high quality research around influenza, emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS, and other public health problems; (2) To strengthen China CDC’s institutional capacity to conduct research, plan, implement and evaluate public health programs; and (3) To incorporate and promote the results of research into operational disease prevention and control programs.
