Description
The USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Research Station has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for new research projects focused on the Lake Tahoe Basin located within the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California and Nevada. Approximately $3 million will be available for research projects. The process is competitive, with approximately 20% of submitted projects selected for funding. We encourage submission of new proposals to address the following priorities for this RFP: air quality, water quality, habitat improvement, and forest fuels reduction. Proposals should be directed toward obtaining information that managers need to solve problems within the Tahoe Basin.
A copy of the RFP and submission requirements is being posted at the Pacific Southwest Research Station home page at http://www.fs.fed.us/psw/ and at www.grants.gov
For additional information, or to be added to the list to receive RFPs for this program, please contact Jonathan Long, Tahoe SNPLMA Science Program Coordinator, at (775) 881-7560 x. 7482 or jwlong(at)fs.fed.us
